Mr. Halfen has an impressive 38-year background in home gardening. During the past 18 years of his career he has developed an expertise in growing hosta plants. As the owner of Halfen Garden Center and Hosta Gardens, Mr. Halfen is responsible for supervising workers in planting seeds, watering, growing plants, and handling day to day operations of the company. He attributes his professional success to his hard work.

In 1969, Mr. Halfen received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin. Additionally, he has given numerous seminars on plant growing and the Hosta cultivar. In the future he hopes to expand his business if the economy allows.
