Russian Agricultural Division harvests sunflower
RAD is gathering sunflower crop on the expanded acreage, envisages positive demand outlook
BARNAUL, RUSSIA, October 28, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- RAD, PAVA daughter subsidiary and an integrated producer of grain cereals, launched the next stage of 2009 harvest campaign. The company farms proceeded to harvesting sunflower crop, after cultivation of spring wheat and buckwheat acreage. Sunflower seeds are grown by two farming units of Russian Agricultural Division - Selkhozholding Llc. (the Romanovo district) and Allac Llc. (the Kamensky district); currently, operations are completed on 520 hectares.
Pursuing the strategy to become a large-scale grower of high-value agricultural crops, this year, RAD expanded the sowing acreage - sunflower, in particular, was increased 2,5 times. The company agronomists expect a positive demand outlook for this high-margin crop, on the domestic market and abroad.
