Award Winning Conservationist Spreads His Wings and Excels in the Business of Farming
Stanford Who's Who proudly introduces Nicholas Watts MBE for his supreme dedication to Farming and Conservation.
SPAULDING, LINCOLNSHIRE, UK, November 21, 2009 /Stanford Who's Who/ -- Stanford Who's Who proudly introduces Nicholas Watts MBE for his supreme dedication to Farming and Conservation. As Proprietor of Vine House Farm he has worked diligently to keep his family owned and operated business thriving and expanding through the decades.
Although he is the owner of a business, he is first and foremost a Farmer in trade and a Conservationist at heart. Vine House Farm operated for years as purely a farming business. When Watts, who has always had a special connection with wildlife, noticed that the various species of birds around the farm were diminishing in numbers he felt obligated to work on the conservation of his feathered friends. That, in turn, led to the addition of a wild bird section of the business.
Nicholas is responsible for farming, overseeing the daily operations of the farm and managing his staff of 11. The farming aspect of Vine House Farm includes the planting and harvesting of general crops such as potatoes, peas, wheat, sugar and beets. They now also grow and sell wild bird food as well as a diverse selection of other products related to wild birds.
Watts dedication to Conservation has earned him a plethora of awards. The highest honor of them all is an MBE, which is his status of Member of the British Empire which he received in 2006 for his services to farming and conservation. His other recognitions include The Lincolnshire Environmental Award in 1995, the Cyanamid Award in 1998, The Broadoak Farming Silver Lapwing Award in 2001, The Pride of Peterborough - Care For The Environment Award and an East of England Countryside Management Award in 2002, The David Brown Daily Telegraph Award in 2004 and Waitrose Leaf Marque Grower of the Year in 2005.
