Brand New All-America Selections 2010 Winners Now Available at Harris Seeds!
The winners are now being released and you can find all the information on them at Harris Seeds.com

ROCHESTER, NY, January 16, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Harris Seeds is pleased to announce that the brand new 2010 All-America Selections winners just recently released for sale are available on their website for both home gardeners and professional growers!

All-America Selections has recently approved changes to their rules to allow an immediate introduction of an AAS Winner if the variety has met all the necessary criteria for introduction. Five varieties have met these criteria and are available for purchase as of early January 2010. You will find all five varieties described below available for sale at Harris Seeds.com.

Zinnia Zahara Double Series
The two new Zahara Double garden varieties listed below are well worth growing. In Harris trials over the past two years, they had the same larger flower size as the Zahara singles (about 2 ½") when compared with the Profusion Series. The beautifully symmetrical double flowers on a healthy and uniform plant habit are no doubt the traits that earned them the well-known AAS garden award. Full, bushy plants of Zahara Double varieties are covered with vibrant, fully double flowers and make marvelous additions to annual gardens and containers. Even better, both varieties exhibit highly dependable tolerances to leaf spot and mildew diseases, thus assuring prolonged garden longevity. Height: 12-14", 12" spread.
Zahara Double Cherry: Bright carmine red.
Zahara Double Fire: Vibrant orange-red shades.

Echinacea PowWow Wild Berry
Tested across the United States and Canada, this purple coneflower seed variety differs from others with its vibrant deep rose-purple flower color that borders on iridescent! Harris trial notes indicated superior garden performance, including a highly basal branching plant habit that results in more blooms per plant and a generally shorter habit. Hardy to zone 3, plants will flower first year approximately 20 weeks from sowing, with the most rapid and uniform flowering occurring at 14 hours of light. Height: 16-24", 12-16" spread.

Marigold Moonsong Deep Orange F1
Moonsong Deep Orange is a newly released All-America Selections 2010 winner. The intense deep orange flower color really caught Harris Seeds' attention when noting this variety in their garden trials over the last few years. The fade-resistant orange flowers are the darkest orange we've come across, and made other orange African marigolds look faded by comparison. Fully double 2½"-3 ½"flowers combined with prolific flowering on very uniform, well-branched plants make this variety a worthy award winner! Try Moonsong Orange in both gardens and mixed containers and you'll not be disappointed. Height: 12-16", 16" spread.

Watermelon Shiny Boy F1
This newly released watermelon certainly deserves the prestigious All America Selections Award. Shiny Boy caught our eye in our test plots because of its exceptional yield potential, outstanding flesh color, and outstanding flavor and sweetness. The oblong-shaped fruit have a very attractive green rind with dark green stripes. Shiny Boy's 15-17 lb fruit are produced on vigorous vines that hold up well to variable weather conditions and produce good, early yields in just 75 days from transplant. When you cut the fruit open you will be amazed at its deep red flesh color, and when you bite into a slice you'll want to savor its crisp, sweet flesh.
